Built around the LockeyUSA 2835 lock body, the 285P takes the place of a traditional keyed cylinder with a flat tailpiece and provides entry using a mechanical push-button combination. It is compatible with panic bars that accept a flat tailpiece and have a turn radius of less than 74 degrees, including LockeyUSA PB1100, PB2500, and compatible Detex panic exit bars. Because the lock is completely mechanical, it requires no batteries, wiring, or electricity, making it a dependable solution for commercial and institutional access points.

The 285P features a heavy-duty lever and passage function for convenient operation in applications where controlled or unrestricted access may be needed. It uses one user code with thousands of possible combinations, and the supplied tumblers allow the combination to be configured from 2 to 7 digits in length and easily changed when access requirements change. Changeable handing provides installation flexibility, while zinc-plated steel construction and Teflon-coated stainless steel interior components provide durability for demanding environments.
